Translation Service Guide: Defining a Map Location
Translating a Static Map:
As we discussed in the Static vs Geospatial Map Guide, Geospatial Maps are associated with real-world coordinates.
Therefore, you must define a location for your Static Map to Translate it to a Geospatial Map.
Defining a Geospatial Location:
After you click “Continue” on the initial Translation Service pop-up window, you will be taken to a pop-up titled “Geospatial Map Location.”
Input your desired address or location into the “Location” search bar. The search bar uses typeahead to predict the Location you’re looking for.
Once you’ve selected a Location, the “Submit” button will become clickable. Click “Submit” to view your Map Image the World Map and align it.

Pro Tip: If you don’t know the exact address of your Map Image, you can the search bar supports more general descriptions. You can then manually fine-tune the Map Image on the alignment page.
In the examples to the right, the User can define “Philadelphia, PA” as a Location, or a specific address within Philadelphia.
