How It Works
Today, classified areas are not permitted to have any device that is broadcasting a signal in the room. Thinaer’s “Classified E” solution (“Classified External”), which is deployed today and available to customers, allows manufacturers to track sensitive assets while ensuring signals go dormant while in classified areas. Here’s how it works:
- Tag assets with passive sticker beacons
- Deploy a strategically designed and lightweight infrastructure at the entrance of the classified area which prepares the passive sticker for classified entry and acts as an intelligent signal barrier. Thinaer’s barrier gateways actually learn about pervasive signals that should be expected, then alerts when anything new may penetrate a classified boundary.
- Upon exiting the classified area, normal IoT monitoring of the asset resumes.
- This ensures that assets are tracked going in and coming out of the area but are not collecting any data while in the classified space.
What’s next? Thinaer has been working on a stand-alone air gap IoT network which enables all Thinaer powered IoT use cases to be safely deployed within classified areas. “Classified I” (“Classified Internal”) will be a true game changer for the Aerospace industry.
